The cracks still remain in the concrete of cities. The bleeding wounds still ache. Fear remains a companion to many. Yet, the Ephedian people dare to hope. They dare to begin to fill in the cracks, bandage the wounds, allow themselves to dream. Their children return home from 16 years of seperation on Earth, sent away for their safety when all was lost.

The dawn is bright for once in a long time.

Within her casted shadows, however, lies the twisted threads of conquest, laid when the Princess freed Ephedia; the Crown is weak, they whisper. Now is the time to take advantage, they screech.

In the night, the air stirs for a second. But only a second.

Then, it quiets down, regressing back to hushed whispers. The sun's rays caught them this time, they excuse.

Quietly, they wait for another time.
