3rd Battalion, 5th Marines: Consummate Professionals Who are we? We are the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, also known as "Darkhorse." As a unit of the most decorated battalion in the Marine Corps, we uphold a legacy of courage, resilience, and dedication. Our team operates in some of the most demanding environments, and we are proud to embody the warrior spirit that defines the United States Marine Corps.

What is our mission? Our mission is to fight and win battles whenever and wherever we are called. Whether it's amphibious assaults, ground combat, or peacekeeping missions, we stand ready to deploy rapidly and strike with precision. We adapt to the ever-changing nature of warfare to ensure the safety and security of our nation.

Our MOS Our Marines specialize in a variety of Military Occupational Specialties (MOS), including but not limited to infantry, reconnaissance, machine gun operations, and mortarmen. Every Marine in 3/5 is an expert in their field, trained to the highest standards of combat excellence.
