Welcome to the HGDS Discord.

This Discord was made for self-motivated game developers who have a desire to learn, build games, and be part of a local Houston game development community. In HGDS we believe community is incredibly important. We believe everyone needs to be a part of something they feel they belong and have something they can contribute to. If you love developing games, have a desire to meet people in the Houston game development scene, and want to be a part of expanding the gaming industry in Houston, this is the community for you. We encourage everyone in and surrounding the city of Houston to share and join our community.

In HGDS we have a few goals. These goals are:

1. For Houston game developers to join an interpersonal community where they can make games, get feedback, network, make friends, and learn about each other in the Houston game development scene.
2. For game developers to create projects or join projects and create game slices, prototypes, and full-feature games.
3. Promote game start-ups and game businesses in Houston and grow the Houston game development industry.
4. To attract investors and people willing to fund attractive and interesting projects.
5. To encourage interaction, collaboration, and to help each other grow as a community.
